Victor Vela, 79, of Momence, IL, died on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at the Illinois Veterans Home in Manteno, IL. He was born on July 28, 1945, in Alice, TX, the son of Matias and Dominga Rubio Vela. He married Genoveva Perez on September 14, 1968, in Momence, IL. She preceded him in death on November 3, 2017.
Victor is survived by two daughters; Susanna Vela of Downers Grove, IL, and Belinda Vela of Downers Grove, IL. One son; Avelino Vela of Momence, IL. His sister; Juanita Martinez of DeBary, FL. Also surviving is his son-in-law; Robert Smith of Momence, IL. Five grandchildren; Ernesto Vela, Emilio Vela, Eric Vela, Elena Vela, and Ethan Vela; six great grandchildren; Landon Vela, Hayden Vela, Hudson Vela, Nolan Vela, Micah Vela and Naomi Watson. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother; Ernesto Vela, his sister; Felicita Vela and daughter; Felicita Smith.
