Sara M. Gatlin, 82, of Manteno, IL, died on Wednesday, Jun 5, 2024, at her residence in Manteno, IL. She was born on June 23, 1941, in Kankakee, IL, the daughter of Henry and Frances Graefnitz Carpenter. She had been married to John Depoister. He preceded her in death on June 27, 2012. She later married Noel Gatlin of Manteno. He survives.
Sara is survived by her daughter, Jolene Stipp of Martinton, IL and five grandchildren; Jaymie Rude, Jeremy and Jessica Stipp, Justin Depoister, Dillon Ebersole and Sara and Mitch Trezise and ten great grandchildren. She has four stepsons: Gary Gatlin, Ronnie Gatlin, Randy Gatlin and Bruce Gatlin. Sara is survived by two brothers; Walter Carpenter of OH and Steven and Gail Carpenter of KY, three sisters: Vicki and Rich Sommer of Kankakee, Susan Grizzle of Milford, Rebecca and Allan Roth of Clifton and a brother-in-law, Chuck Van Derbol of FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, John Depoister, one daughter; Dawn Lawrence, one sister,
